Racing as a reality check

After the first 30 seconds I knew it was going to be a challenging race.

I wanted to quit…my truck was parked a couple blocks over. I could just veer off-course and call it a day.

I’ve spent a lifetime perfecting my hiding skills and it would’ve been easy to do.

But I decided to keep in and find what resources I could to make it the whole race.

I even walked a couple of times as things just weren’t clicking this morning.

So this was a reality check for some of my own habits interfering with my training, with my running, with my life.

I finally see the finish line and my dismal time….shut down the engines and get some water.

Now, I’m already looking forward to my next reality check….perhaps the Lungevity Run on August 11th?
